Not at all Darren. Sure, you can get hundreds of thousands of WordPress ‘themes’ which take very little work, right up to those that take a lot of work to program and fill out. Or, you can do what we do the majority of the time and create a completely bespoke design and implement WordPress as the CMS for that design because it’s intuitive, powerful, flexible and search engines love it. The great thing about WordPress is the flexibility in terms of plugins, so yes, in the future our clients can install a range of plugins (as long as they don’t interfere with the website theme) which can help them improve efficiency (e.g. SEO plugins, invoicing plugins, short links, stats and so on), but in terms of the actual design/programming, it still takes a lot of talent to do it right.

When it comes down to it, we’ve used countless CMS’ for clients in the past and have WordPress to be absolutely the most effective for 90% of clients. However, if it’s a tailored e-commerce site a client needs, WP may not be the perfect solution but we always advise clients on their individual circumstances and objectives, so if it is not 100% suitable we’ll be open with a client and provide an alternative.

Most of them will offer the same functionality – We use WordPress because the Plugin library is huge & it’s intuitive for clients. You can also tailor the theme quite easily. So if that’s your goal you can’t go wrong with WordPress

Employ a web company like ours. If you have little or no coding experience it will be cheaper and easier to get professionals to do it. Otherwise, we use Photoshop to design our websites for clients and a variety of programs like Dreamweaver to program them. Let me know if we can be of help in the future. I have downloaded CS5 Design Premium with Dreamweaver and Photoshop, but I realize this can be a little advanced to me and expensive!!!.
